750 Ways to Use Vinegar
Ok, maybe only 743. I’m not listing them all here, because… well, that would be rather ridunkulous. However, I have found that 99.99% of these fall into three basic categories. And that is what we’re going to talk about today.
EAT IT. There are tons of suggestions and recipes on the web. I’ve also read about the benefits of drinking apple cider vinegar (known as ACV) daily. A quick search on the Internet will reveal advantages such as weight loss, better digestion, improved sugar metabolism, etc. I’ve tried it – numerous times, numerous ways – and I cannot drink it. Big ol’ no go for me. But, others can so it might be worth a try. A quick search of “vinegar recipes” will yield a gob of results. I happen to love veggies (cucumbers, beets, carrots) with ACV (or other flavor), oil and a little sugar or maybe dill. Doesn’t get much easier than that.
CLEAN WITH IT. It cleans almost everything that is not fabric. And actually, it works great in the laundry if you have “funky” towels. A half of cup in the wash and that smell is gone for months. Vinegar will clean your stove/oven, your hard water in your bath, grease off of anything, and your ceramic tile. And your windows. And your litter boxes. The list goes on and on. When in doubt, try it. And no need for “good” vinegar here… the cheap-o white store brand does the trick.
WIPE IT ON YA. Yup. It’s good for your skin and some skin ailments. I have keratosis pilaris (http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/keratosis-pilaris/basics/definition/con-20025750) and it helps. A lot. I hear it’s effective for toenail fungus. I’ve had great results using it like a facial skin toner rather than astringent. For my skin, I use an organic ACV, but other types will probably work just as well. The organic ACV is about $5.50 for 32 ounces, which will last for almost six months. Cheap!
